We provide weekly online Virtual Electives and in-person Optional Learning Experience classes to families residing in Houghton, MI and the surrounding Keweenaw area, including at our Kaleidoscope L’Anse learning center.
Kaleidoscope was founded by a group of parents with the belief that all families should have a say in their children’s educational pursuits. We provide educational resources to our community and collaborate with homeschooling and traditional schooling families to connect them to educational opportunities that match their needs.

Families enrolled in this option first register their students with The Public Schools of Calumet, Laurium & Keweenaw (CLK) Virtual Programs as either shared-time or full-time students. Kaleidoscope students participate in non-core virtual learning activities that encourage exploration and fun for each of their electives, and can add flexible, hands-on activities through our Optional Learning Experience choices.
Students who are not enrolled in our partner school district can still participate in both Virtual Electives and Optional Learning Experiences. Read more about Self-Pay here.
Kaleidoscope is one of several Virtual Programs partners of CLK. Families enrolled with CLK’s Virtual Programs have the option of choosing one partner organization or a combination to receive free tuition for at-home or community learning.

Virtual Electives
Sign up for weekly Virtual Electives and participate in related Optional Learning Experiences. Tuition is free through the CLK school district, and a self-pay option is available to all other students.

Sign up for Basecamp Optional Learning Experiences that meet weekly at our building in L’Anse, or Explorer Optional Learning Experiences that meet at various times and locations in the Houghton area.
